Affiliate Marketing - Do You Need a Website?

It has been said that to do business on the World Wide Web, you must have your own website. This is your "company" headquarters in cyberspace. Your very own digital store where you transact business with potential customers and where you offer the products you have for sale. A website is a good thing to have ,but not absolutely necessary to get started as an affiliate marketer.
Is it really possible? If so, how? I am glad you asked. We will now discuss some alternative strategies that will allows you to make the most out of your affiliate marketing campaigns without having your own webpage presence on the web.

Before we go any further, lets define Affiliate Marketing. Affiliate marketing is a program whereby the affiliate earns commissions for every successful sale they make of products or services of an affiliate merchant. They make the products; you sell them. This is a win / win situation. The merchant can get his products before a much larger audience, and at the same time you can earn commissions on your sales. The sales page, payment processing, digital delivery, and post sales follow-up are usually done by the merchant. You are using their web page and that is why you don't have to have one of your own.

Where do you start? There are thousands of merchants seeking affiliates. Your task is to find the best possible products with the highest possible compensation plan. Once you sign up as an affiliate, you will be assigned your unique url affiliate link. Your affiliate links are very important. Be sure you copy them exactly into your web sites. When someone clicks your url link they are directed to the merchants signup or sales page. They will tell the system that you referred the visitor. Marketing the merchant’s goods or services without the benefit of a website will involve some effort by you. How can you get your affiliate page visited by customers? Here are some successful strategies:

· One of the best strategies is Article marketing. Article directories are hungry for fresh content. Write an article about and submit it to numerous article directories. In the resource area of the submission page, you will be allowed to insert your affiliate url along with information about yourself. Some article directories will even allow you to insert your links in the body of the articles themselves. Always read the submission guidelines for each directory. Here are a few places to get you started with your article marketing campaign: www.ezinearticles.com , www.goarticles.com and www.isnare.com .

· A second option is to use Forum and blog marketing. There are thousands of online communities, or forums, that can be used by you to promote your affiliate products. Most forums and blog sites provide a place for you to tell the other forum members about yourself. Always insert your url as part of this process. The more times you post, the more times your url is seen! For every post you make, your signature box would appear. Post a thousand messages, and you’ll have a thousand pages advertising your affiliate links! Try to use blog sites and forums that are relevant to your affiliate product. · A third method of promotion is to Advertise in eZines. This method has some cost involved. Most eZines charge for their advertising space. However, you can expose your affiliate links to large numbers of targeted prospects using this approach. Imagine if the eZine has a list of 10,000 people. You’d immediately be able to reach 10,000 quality leads with your one advertisement! If it's in your budget, this may be your best bet. Just remember to always use your affiliate link in your ads.

As I am sure you can see by now, not having your own website should not stop you from having a successful online business. Most of the strategies we have discussed here can be done without spending a single dime. Now is the time for action; pick your product, join up, and start building your own profitable business!
